The results
Mostly A’s — The counter-offer. You answer a vague ask with a specific day, which is the one move that can’t be dodged. Ask for one concrete thing, not more effort in general, and let the answer be the information.
Mostly B’s — You can’t say no to him. Notice whether you say yes because you want to see him, or because no feels dangerous. Only the second one is a problem, and it gets easier the first time you try it.
Mostly C’s — Your week stays empty. Your Fridays belong to a maybe. Book one thing you’d have done anyway and keep it even if he asks. The week has to be yours before he can be invited into it.
Mostly D’s — The no with a point to make. The no landed, but it was carrying a message you’d rather he decoded than heard. Say the plain version: you’d like one night planned in advance. That’s a reasonable sentence.
